Intro to 06 Technologies

Course Description

This course provides a foundational overview of the 06 Limited Energy specialty, covering licensing requirements, scope of work, and the codes governing low-voltage installations in Washington State. Students are introduced to relevant sections of the National Electrical Code (NEC), RCW/WACs, and other relevant resources, as well as the rules and pathways for obtaining and maintaining an 06 license. The course also explores common limited energy technologies, including access control, audio/video systems, CCTV, intrusion systems, and fire alarm systems, with an emphasis on system components, key terminology, and real-world applications. Supplemental handouts included in cost of course.
